About Me

I currently work for Bamboo Health, formerly Appriss Health, as a Software Engineering Manager. I lead a team of developers to design and build innovative solutions for the healthcare industry. I have over 15 years of experience in software development, architecture, and management, with a focus on web, database, and cloud technologies. I am passionate about creating scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications that improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare providers.

Some of my recent accomplishments include developing a critical resource tracker for the state of North Carolina during the COVID-19 pandemic, designing a pub/sub pattern for gathering search results from multiple independent system deployments, designing an asynchronous event driven approach for the OpenBeds application's APIs, and implementing a SMART on FHIR Facade pattern for interoperability with various EHR systems. I am proficient in PHP, Python, C#, React, MySQL, Redis, and Docker.

I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky but currently live in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

I began doing web design at 14 for a company called Harrison Medical Inc. I began learning PHP at 16 while learning Java in honors and AP classes at Saint Xavier High School. I graduated from the University of Louisville in 2011 with a Business Administration degree focusing on Computer Information Systems. I have worked on a number of projects over the years, from server management and configuration, network management, virtualization, cloud solutions, database management, software development, Electronic Health Record (EHR) integration, application architecture, and team management.

Hobbies outside of work include woodworking, specifically making furniture, home improvement, working on automobiles, and exercising, usually at Orange Theory.
